The Questions:

  1. Do you have the quality of access that has been required for this online class? Are your computer, software, and connectivity allowing you to do what you need to do?
  2. Do you have the necessary technical skills needed?
  3. Do you have the level of motivation, discipline, and time that are needed?
  4. Are you keeping up? If so, why? If not, why?
  5. If you could go back in time, would you sign up for this class? Why?
  6. Based on your responses to the above, how would you evaluate yourself in terms of a letter grade at this point? Eventually, that decision will need to be made and it is one that I want you to be a part of.

PUPIL PROGRESS REPORT

Anthony W. Reetz

Narrative Form

Anthony has shown the necessary technical skills required of the internet-based format of this course. He has been able to navigate successfully through the registration process, the ASDO content and forum pages for Advanced Microsoft Word, the OCE egroups web site, the email process of communication with peers and instructor, and he has posted his assignments online.

While his hardware and software have proven adequate for the completion of coursework, the paucity of processor speed and RAM have made it a tedious and frustrating experience. Sheer motivation, discipline, and inordinate amounts of time have been required for him to survive thus far.

Anthony has kept current with the online aspects of the ASDO and OCE assignments. However, he has not kept up with the reading of text assignments. This has been due to a failure to set aside adequate time for reading on a regular basis.

Anthony's attitude toward the ASDO portion of this course has been poor. He has also made disparaging remarks about some of the readings. While he has thrived upon the interaction with his OCE classmates and instructor and would welcome another opportunity to work with them in the future, it is extremely doubtful that he will enroll in another ASDO course. Perhaps a course produced by an educational institution would be more fitting with his needs.

Based upon the quality of Anthony's OCE assignments, his skipping of ASDO assignments he deemed unnecessary, his failure to keep up with the reading assignments, and his lack of attendance at an important OCE face-to-face meeting, this evaluator recommends Anthony receive a grade of "B" at this time. If he pulls together his attitude, catches up on the reading, and does a good job on the final presentation, give him an "A".
