Facts &
Statistics
The church at South Anchorage first met in the Moose Lodge on
Arctic Blvd in 1967 with about 35 members attending. Later
land was purchased and a building was built at 7800 Stanley
Drive, where we still meet today. In 1987 the building was
expanded and remodeled to meet certain required codes. At the
present time there are about 120 members meeting. Our
number swells somewhat in the summer when we have more visitors
and seasonal workers return to Alaska. In 1974 a house was
purchased at 1031 W. 73rd Ave., for the minister’s use.
For the most part we are debt free, the church building and the
minister’s house are fully paid for. Being debt free
enables us to devote more resources to the spreading of the
gospel instead of paying for facilities. We invite you to
come and work with us in this most important task of spreading
the gospel.
