Cordova is known worldwide for its natural beauty, our friendly community, and
most of all, our fishing. Nearby, you can find viewing areas for moose, bear,
trumpeter swans, Canadian geese, and much more. The famous Childs Glacier lies
about 50 miles from town, but it is well worth the drive. Other glaciers, such
as the Sheridan, can be seen on the way out, some with spectacular views and
easy access. Rafting and hiking are just a few of the other activities
available.
The town provides a number of attractions as well. You can visit our historic museum and learn about the communities fascinating past. Walk the harbor, visit the Forest Service or Science Center, and grab a bite to eat at one of our variety of restaurants.

The famous fishing grounds of the Eyak River lie just feet from our location.
Sockeye salmon, or Red Salmon, run in the spring and summer. Our Coho, or Silver
Salmon run in the fall, and Dolly Varden trout run throughout the season. The
ocean hosts halibut, a variety of rockfish, sharks, and salmon as well.
We have a wide range of big game to hunt during season, from deer in the fall and winter to bear in the spring and summer. We also have plentiful water foul in the fall and early winter. Small game animals and upland game birds can also be hunted in season.
