The Reception

•piano music works well with dining and conversing

•for dancing and celebrating, it may be best to hire a disc jockey (DJ) or live band. Keep in mind that you will have more guests dancing if there's a wide variety of music played at your reception
The First Dance These days, it's fine to choose any dance style or order, but it's best to arrange your dance selections ahead of time with the musician(s) or DJs

Just for trivia, here are the Traditional Dancing Rules

    (1) The bride and groom dance first (without other guests dancing). (2) The bride's father gets the second dance with the bride followed by the bride's father-in-law who cuts in. (3) While the bride is dancing with the fathers, the groom dances with the bride's mother, then his own mother (grandparents may join in). (4) The groom dances with the maid of honor. (5) The bride dances with the best man. (6) Groomsmen and ushers dance with bridesmaids. (7) Guests may begin dancing next.
