A Peaceful Retreat with a Quiet Beauty

We love the Star Lookout, a magical cottage in Maui's Upcountry. We enjoy "Old Hawaii" in our quiet, restful perch with sweeping views, magnificent sunsets, and oodles of stars.  Although the County of Maui no longer allows us to operate as a vacation cottage, we would like to share this lovely place with photos on our website.

The County of Maui is taking action to shut down vacation cottages on the island.  While this is disappointing news to us at The Star Lookout, we hope that this will not deter your plans to visit the wonderful island of Maui.  There are many accommodations available in condos and resort hotels.  Unfortunately the quiet ecotourism experience in private stay cottages is no longer available.  If you would like more information about the County's action, please visit www.mvra.net.  If you would like to see vacation cottages on Maui legalized, please take a moment to contact Maui elected officials to express your opinion:  Contact Elected Officials
