Prize-winning marble superveil tail angelfish, Tanana Valley State Fair, Fairbanks, Alaska. August 2002. These angels were just 11 1/2 weeks old at the time they were judged. My thanks to Tim and Valerie of Pet Palace for lending me an aquarium to display these fish. These are two female leopard angelfish (sisters), with standard tails. Neither turned out to be a good breeder, but they are very handsome fish, and I enjoy them for their beauty. One was paired with a leopard male for a long time. They spawned a few times, but the spawns were small and poor quality. I successfully hatched one egg from them, but the lone fry was not very vigorous and died young. The other paired with a marble male for a while, until he became abusive toward her for eating the eggs. I hatched two of their spawns, producing smoky leopard marbles. Smoky leopard marble, standard tail. This is a cross between a marble and a leopard. One of the two leopards in the photo above is the mother, but they look so much alike that I don't know which one is which. One of my breeding marble moms. Veil tail with comb tail trait.
