Reunions for the 1st of the 52nd Infantry Battalion
of the 198th Light Infantry Bridgade, Americal Division

June 2002 Reunion
Cedar Stone Lodge, near Eminence, Missouri

This year's reunion was held again
at Cedar Stone Lodge,
which offers bed and breakfast rooms,
bunkrooms and camp sites.

Picnic area and field kitchen, with a map of Vietnam.

Folks gathered on the lodge porch,
as well as picnic area.

We had new cooks this year, but the same great food!

The memorial service this year was
for three borthers lost in Vietnam:
Lt. Flautery, LtC. Stinson,
for whom LZ Stinson was named,
and Garry Elerman,
who grew up in Eminance MO.
The fourth brother honored, Mike Mandgrial,
died this past year from cancer.

After the flag ceremony, but before the memorial service,
Phil and Wayne hung the "battalion" flag. This flag
survived the June 1970 mortar attack on LZ Stinson.
Wayne brought this flag, complete with shrapnel holes,
home with him from Vietnam and has given it to the 1/52.
