 | The memorial service this year was for three borthers lost in Vietnam: Lt. Flautery, LtC. Stinson, for whom LZ Stinson was named, and Garry Elerman, who grew up in Eminance MO. The fourth brother honored, Mike Mandgrial, died this past year from cancer. |
| After the flag ceremony, but before the memorial service, Phil and Wayne hung the "battalion" flag. This flag survived the June 1970 mortar attack on LZ Stinson. Wayne brought this flag, complete with shrapnel holes, home with him from Vietnam and has given it to the 1/52.  |  |
