We found that it was a little difficult to epoxy the three pieces together for the frames. When you put the clamps on, they wanted to slip and slide. Even later, they wanted to creep off station. We applied the “mayonnaise” to opposing surfaces, layed every thing up carefully and used blocks to keep things level.

With everything carefully aligned, we drilled holes the same size as some brass brads we bought.

The brass brad was gently pushed in place with the hammer. This should not be a real tight fit. You want the brads to hold things in place, but allow the clamps to squeeze out the epoxy. After the first brad was in place, we carefully rechecked alignment and drilled the second hole, placed the brad and so on until we did four brads on each frame.

Then it was an easy matter to clamp the frames up without losing alignment.

A tongue blade was cut straight across to use to clean up the expressed epoxy.

This cleaned up the right angle very nicely. We had to go back several times as more came out. You need this to be nice and clean for your floor boards to sit on and it is not a fun place to sand.
